The Carefree Souls Department
(Not Taylor's Version.) Here are some less tortured bits of culture to lighten the mood before our next TTPD meeting.
Hi hi hi.
Am I inside my own body? I’m not sure anyone can say for sure at this point.
Is my brain communicating with my hands in a way that makes words appear on the screen? It seems so, but I feel like it could go at any minute.
Am I a different person than I was at 11:59 PM yesterday? Absolutely. Without question.
We will get into all things TTPD in a separate post this weekend. I am slightly terrified of how long I’ll go. But this Blondie of ours decided to drop a second album at 2 AM and gifted us with 31 (THIRTY-ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!) songs, so what are you gonna do?
Also, 13-31, aka Taylor’s birthdate + Abby’s Birthday. EEEEEEEEEEEK.
Until then, here are some bits and bobbles from the culture that are not related to Taylor Alison Swift (mostly).
DISCUSSION TOPICS1:
The WNBA draft was awesome. I was inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse which was absolutely packed with fans for a party/event to watch as we (the Indiana Fever) picked Caitlin Clark at #1. It was so rad to see. All the girlies showed up and showed out with their fashions in NYC too. I feel like there’s been a lot of great coverage (like from the Fug Girls) of the sartorial stylings of these ballers and it’s rad to see that too. Though GFY has always had lots of coverage of female athletes. Sports is one of the many passions I share with my friend Heather and Jessica.
I can’t wait for our first game of the season. That Fieldhouse is gonna be bumpin’.
Sidebar: It occurred to me the other day that Caitlin is absolutely getting the “22” hat at one of Indy Eras dates in November and it’s gonna get so loud. In case you don’t know, 22 is Caitlin’s number and she is, in fact, a bit of a Swiftie2.
(This quote is from last year.)
Emma Roberts Arch Digest Tour. She’s a nut and I love this tour. I don’t think she is in any way the kind of hang I’m looking for in life, but I do want to see her house.
So. Much. Bravo. News
Crystal is out on Bev Hills
Robyn was 100p fired from Potomac (this was a duh for me, but she did confirm)
Candiace is pregnant, but we also know she’s not going to be on RHOP next season and perhaps that’s all for the best. Congrats!
Rachel Minkoff is filming RHONY as perhaps a “friend of”, it’s unclear. But my friend Alyssa tweeted this and it’s so true.
SNL has been ON ONE (complimentary)
Pilates + the Pilates BTS. No notes. I love Pilates, but make it A24.
Jumanji
I have watched this so many times and it has yet to get old. Andrew Dismukes goes energetically head-to-head with Kristen Wiig and it’s just absolute bonkers perfection.
It’s also giving a Wicked Witch of the East, bro vibe and I love it.
Close Encounter. Gosling’s episode was simply stellar front-to-back. Or should I say the bush to the tush or some such in honor of Kate McKinnon’s iconic character? (I shared his monologue last week.) I love every single time people break, but especially Gosling.
Beavis + Butthead
I have also watched this a gazillion times and succomb to all my giggles just like the Gardner (Heidi) on the show itself. This is one of the best breaks of all time.
It’s real close with this Debbie Downer
Papyrus 2. I love this concept to the depths of my soul.
Here’s the first one, too.
#1 Olivia + the version of Gwen Stefani we’ll love forever and missed so so so much performed together at Coachella. It’s great to see you again, This Gwen.
Kesha + Renee Rapp made me way happier than I expected too.
I finally started the new season of 911 and my god we’re off the rails from the first episode where Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett) are on a cruise that gets hijacked by smugglers (???) but not before it’s basically a true crime pod that becomes The Poseidon Adventure, but with the aforementioned hijackers. And someone the team back home is helping deal with this situation. I love this absolutely batshit show. Who else is watching?
I’m also loving the Seth/Lonely Island pod over the first two episodes.
JJ Casuals!
EdiTORIalize It
Oh Tori, Tori, Tori. This is not the look. Please don’t go on Bethenny’s pod (even though I know she shamelessly will.)
Gen X Moment of Zen
It feels like we could all do for a stoned gas station dance party right about now. Troy Dyer is also a very tortured poet.
Oh, and…
I’ll never not be interested in a new Dakota Johnson project. I won’t see all of them immediately (Madame 🕸️) but I’m always intrigued. … How did I miss that there’s a new horror film called Abigail? And I guess it must be one of Angus Cloud’s last performances. Ugh, sad. But also I need to see this. But, first. Challengers … Great News was such an underrated show. I loved it and I love Nicole Richie forever … I very much enjoy High Snobiety … I love Sue Bird.
Until the next Department meeting this weekend, here’s something my friend Seth posted the other day that really made me laugh.

Okay, yes, I am sorta copying the format from yesterday that was outlined by Taylor Nation. But not topically.
I truly cannot fucking help myself. She’s always in my brain.
It IS because Tori is broke but it’s also because she wants it so much. (Honestly, I wish they’d hire CANDY Spelling.) - J
I am watching 911! It's my very favorite treadmill show, and I give my husband a "and that's what you missed on GLEE" rundown of the absolute madness of the show every week and he loves it (or he's held hostage, whatever). Marriage!
